The Borough of Fair Lawn and the River Road Improvement Corporation will co-host a three hour event on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (rain date September 20) in the River Road District, outdoors, along the sidewalk from Berdan to Fair Lawn Avenues. The event celebrates organizations that represent the close relationship between animals and humans, our pets and our families while strolling along River Road – pets invited. Cheryl Paradiso and Dr. Gregory Riskin, owner/operators of the Fair Lawn Animal Hospital and the Valley Brook Veterinary Hospital on Saddle River Road are presenting the event with the RRIC and the Borough of Fair Lawn. Join us as we celebrate and promote three organizations who recognize the close bond between pets and their service on our behalf:
- In keeping us well: The Valley Hospital of Ridgewood and its Volunteer Pet Therapy Program
- In keeping us safe at home and abroad: Bergen County’s K-9 Unit’s
- In helping us live our daily lives: Morristown’s The Seeing Eye, Inc. the oldest existing guide dog school in the US
These organizations are excited to be chosen as the event’s honorees and will be attending with displays and activities at the event.

Your entry must include answers to 3 questions listed on the form. Visit and ask the representatives at the three pet service organizations for the answers. You will find these organizations along River Road between Berdan and Fair Lawn Avenues. This is your opportunity to learn more about their programs.
