Fair Lawn’s River Road Welcomes Advance Auto Parts
Music, prizes and giveaways from X96.3 FM, a display of custom motorcycles built by River Road’s own Tribal Iron Choppers, plus plenty of free food and refreshments provided by Rivara’s next door on Maple Avenue were highlights of the Grand Opening celebration at the Advance Auto Parts Store on River Road in Fair Lawn. Located in the new shopping plaza at the corner of Maple Avenue along with the newly opened CVS Store, Advance Auto Parts representatives and members of the store’s staff helped welcome customers from Fair Lawn and surrounding communities.

In 2010, the Fair Lawn Economic Development Corporation (EDC) in partnership with the River Road Improvement Corporation (RRIC), the Broadway Improvement Corporation (BIC) and the Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce funded a comprehensive study of the marketplace and its impact on properties and businesses in Fair Lawn. The EDC held a meeting on September 8, 2011 with interested property and business owners to share information that directly affects their tenants, property and the decisions protect their investment.

The 2011 Recycling and Garbage Handbook has been distributed as an insert in the January 6, 2011 edition of the Fair Lawn Community News. The handbooks will not be mailed this year as a cost saving measure.
Residents may also download the handbook from the Borough website at: www.fairlawn.org .
All recycling sections will return to the normal 5 day collection schedule as of 1/1/11. Altered sections will revert to their "old" collection days.

Route 208 Development
New Vision for Route 208 Properties
The final report by the Fair Lawn Economic Development Corp. outlines a concept plan that would transform the 210-acre park in Fair Lawn and Glen Rock from a strictly industrial site to a mixed-use development, featuring commercial office space, restaurants and residential housing.

Redevelopment project comes to River Road intersection
Fair Lawn - Visitors to the River Road District have been doing a double take in recent weeks at the distinctly different sight lines of a busy local intersection. An old industrial structure on the former KEM Property at the intersection of River Road and Maple Avenue has been demolished.
