The mom and pop store down on Main Street. The image conjures up local business and a spirit of community. More and more these days, the “mom” in a mom and pop business is the driving force in making a local success story. For these mothers, running a business presents its own set of challenges. In honor of Mom and Pop Business Owners Day on March 29, here are some women making a name in local business.

According to The New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO), an organization that supports women entrepreneurs, there are 282,000 women business owners in New Jersey.
