Community remembers Mary Ann Collura

This year three new benches were donated in memory of Retired Capt. Robert Gajarsky of the Fair Lawn Police Department at the memorial for Mary Ann Collura. Gajarsky’s sister, Mary Ann Ackerman, and wife, Marie Gajarsky, were joined by Collura’s sisters, Pat Snyder and Linda Hughes, to unveil one of the benches.

Three benches around the memorial for Officer Mary Ann Collura were dedicated on the anniversary of her death on April 17.

Family members, friends, borough officials and officers gathered around the memorial in front of the municipal building in the afternoon to remember the fallen officer.

“May many come, be able to sit, enjoy the quiet and solitude and to remember the sacrifice,” said Detective David Boone in a prayer at the remembrance ceremony hosted by the borough and Fair Lawn PBA Local #67.
