Local Businesses Help RRIC
Purchase New American Flag
Banners for River Road District
Fair Lawn, NJ, August 18, 2010 – Over the years, time and weather had taken a toll on the American flag banners flying proudly throughout the River Road District in Fair Lawn. To continue the tradition through the summer months and beyond, the River Road Improvement Corporation (RRIC) needed to replace the faded and worn banners. In response, five local businesses stepped forward to provide the funds required to purchase 36 new American flag banners.
Bob Landzettel of Landzettel & Sons and RRIC President, thanked local business and commercial property owners Fair Lawn Industries, Rubenstein Properties, Community Bank of Bergen County, Crème de la Crepes and Wells, Jaworski & Liebman, LLP for their contributions. “Their generosity has made it possible for us to maintain the display of colorful and patriotic banners throughout the River Road District,” said Landzettel. “That willingness to help out reflects their commitment to our local community,” said Landzettel.
Community Bank of Bergen County has a branch office at 12-79 River Road, noted President Peter A. Michelotti, so support for the American flag banner program was a natural. “The River Road District is just one of many local communities we serve, and we do everything we can to support local businesses and the people who live and work in those communities.”
Leonard Spivak, who owns Crème de la Crepes (12-56 River Road) with his wife, Svetlana, was glad to contribute because he believes the banners are a positive for the River Road District. “Not only do they show that we are a welcoming community, but also one with people of many different descents who appreciate America and are thankful for the opportunities we have found here,” Spivak concluded.
