RRIC Announces Winners in 7 th Annual River Road Classic Car Show

October 29, 2009, Fair Lawn, NJ - Great weather, dozens of classic cars and costumed car owners were highlights of the 7 th Annual River Road Classic Car Show, part of the Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce Street Fair. The River Road Improvement Corporation (RRIC), the show's sponsor, provided $10 gift cards to all classic car owners who participated in the event, as well as two $100 cash prizes and gift certificates to two River Road District restaurants, Davia, 6-09 Fair Lawn Avenue and Rivara's, 6-18 Maple Avenue, to winners in several categories. Tribal Iron Custom Choppers, based in Fair Lawn's River Road District, also presented a custom-made trophy for "Best Hot Rod."
The winners included:
Mayor's Choice : 1957 Chevy Bel Air, owned by Kelly & Cathy Bennett of Bloomfield
Cool Ride : 1941 Buick Special, owned by Frank Scibetta of Paramus
Most Awesome : 1967 Ford Mustang owned by Ken Chiavelli of Rochelle Park
Best Costumed Car Owner : Kathy DiGiacomo of Fair Lawn, 1962 Pontiac LeMans
Best Themed Vehicle : 1987 Desert Storm HumVee, owned by Peter Schindo of Paramus
Best Hot Rod : 1932 Ford Coupe, owned by Craig Yeske of Mahwah
The Bennetts, who learned of the show from friends who live in Fair Lawn, said they enjoy the atmosphere on River Road because it is a friendly and family-oriented event. "Combined with the street fair, the show is fun and convenient compared to some of the region's larger classic car events," they added.
