RRIC Announces Winners in 9th Annual River Road Classic Car Show
November 4, 2010, Fair Lawn, NJ – A 1969 Dodge Charger owned by Jeff Scheffer of Clifton was named “Best Overall” at the 9th Annual River Road Classic Car Show. Sponsored by the River Road Improvement Corporation (RRIC), the car show is part of the Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce Street Fair. The classic cars added excitement to an event that annually draws hundreds of Fair Lawn residents and visitors from throughout the metropolitan area to River Road in Fair Lawn.
$100 cash prizes were awarded to Mike Kermes of East Brunswick, who dressed as Frankenstein to win for best costume by a car owner and to John Sanders of Glen Rock for his 1968 Corvair Manza Convertible decorated with memorabilia from the year his classic car was built. Little Falls resident Jeff Braen’s 1934 Chevy Coup was honored as the show’s “Cool Ride” and Vince Bruato of Garfield earned “Most Awesome” honors for his 1937 Chevy Pickup. Tribal Iron Custom Choppers, based in Fair Lawn’s River Road District, also presented a custom-made trophy for “Best Hot Rod” to Joe Simon of Rockaway for his 1934 Ford Roadster.
The RRIC provided $10 in River Road District Dollars gift certificates to all of the classic car owners who participated in the show, along with restaurant gift certificates for the winners in addition to the two $100 cash prizes. The River Road District’s business and commercial property owners contributed the prizes to support the Chamber’s Annual Street Fair and to showcase the great shopping and dining to be found conveniently close by on River Road in Fair Lawn.
