Ed Carter has been involved in the cycling business for many years.  In January, 2005, he became the new proprietor of Amber Cyclery, taking over from the previous owner, Irv Kleinberg, with whom he has had a long-time business relationship.  Ed has recently relocated his store to a larger and more accessible facility, right next door to its long-time home.  Ed’s goal is to continue the excellent service that has been provided to the Fair Lawn community since 1960.  He and Store Manager Dave Westervelt bring a combined 60-plus years of experience to their operation, so can draw upon a wealth of knowledge and expertise to assist their customers.

Amber Cyclery sells and services a wide variety of bicycles—including Schwinn, Diamondback, Raleigh, Bianchi road bikes, and Jamis—with models and styles to fit a full spectrum of riders, from youngsters to their active grandparents, and novice to expert riders.  For those who are looking for something out of the ordinary, Ed also has tandem bikes, unicycles, and low-riders.

In addition, a wide array of replacement parts, repair kits, gloves, and bike carriers are in stock, and Ed and his staff can expertly perform any repair that might be needed— from a flat tire to a complete re-build. 

Amber Cyclery is also proud to offer Pride Mobility Products for special needs individuals.  The Pride line includes battery operated scooters and specially equipped chairs to assist those who are physically challenged.  Amber is unique in this area of Bergen County as the provider of this fine line of assistive products.

Ed has lived in Fair Lawn for 32 years, and has served in various capacities of the Fair Lawn Board of Education for the past 12.  As a person committed to his town, he can say with both pride and confidence that “Fair Lawn is an excellent town to live and raise a family because of its location and fantastic school system, which draws future home owners.  The River Road District is a fast and up-and-coming section to be associated with.  The future of River Road is endless.”
