RRIC Announces Winners in 9th Annual River Road Classic Car Show
November 4, 2010, Fair Lawn, NJ – A 1969 Dodge Charger owned by Jeff Scheffer of Clifton was named “Best Overall” at the 9th Annual River Road Classic Car Show. Sponsored by the River Road Improvement Corporation (RRIC), the car show is part of the Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce Street Fair. The classic cars added excitement to an event that annually draws hundreds of Fair Lawn residents and visitors from throughout the metropolitan area to River Road in Fair Lawn.
Local Businesses Help RRIC Purchase New American Flag Banners for River Road District
Fair Lawn, NJ, August 18, 2010 – Over the years, time and weather had taken a toll on the American flag banners flying proudly throughout the River Road District in Fair Lawn. To continue the tradition through the summer months and beyond, the River Road Improvement Corporation (RRIC) needed to replace the faded and worn banners. In response, five local businesses stepped forward to provide the funds required to purchase 36 new American flag banners.
During this past holiday season the River Road District was decorated with beautiful lighted holiday wreaths surrounding the decorative pole globes and themed holiday window paintings in many of the business storefront windows.
On December 13th and 20th, visitors to the district listen to the Salvation Army Brass Ensemble, whose sound is always synonymous with the season while they strolled and performed holiday classics at several locations in the district.

The show was part of the FAIR LAWN CHAMBER of COMMERCE STREET FAIR. Fifty cars participated in the show and great prices were given.
Our participants came dressed in the era of their car or just in a fun Halloween costume!
On Saturdays May 10th and June 14th, visitors and local residents enjoyed the antics of Polka Dot, a popular costumed character who entertained children and families as part of a "Clowns & Balloons" event sponsored by the River Road Improvement Corporation (RRIC) in cooperation with Columbia Bank.
By popular demand, Polka Dot made appearances in May and June bringing smiles to everyone as he strolled the River Road district between Berdan and Bergen Avenues, and on Fair Lawn Avenue between Sixth and George Streets. Polka Dot gave away free balloon sculptures and contributed to the fun and friendly atmosphere on River Road for shoppers, visitors and the district’s business community.
The events were sponsored by the River Road Improvement Corporation in cooperation with Columbia Bank.
Members of the Fair Lawn Majors’ Columbia Bank-sponsored Little League team shared a laugh with Polka Dot along River Road. The team is coached by John Klimowich, Senior Vice President, Controller for Columbia Bank.

The Radburn Street Fair> River Road Improvement Corporation, along with Broadway Improvement Corporation recently participated in the annual Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce Radburn Street Fair on Sunday, June 10.
